SÉVERINE DESROSIERS

I’m a French-Haitian Caribbean queen who has bounced from one country to another in my lifetime. I’m a full-time finance employee during the day and a University student/ writer by night. During my free time, what little of it I have, I like to learn new skills, go out to eat, but travel is a huge passion.

My family, which now consists of my Mom, my step Papa and my younger sister are a family of travellers. Unlike most families, we like to pick a different country every year to go to for Christmas. I’m hoping to be the real-life Dora the Explorer someday by visiting as many places as I can.

I love making the most of my time and one of these ways is to try to inspire others around me in a positive way. While the Path to Resilience isn’t necessarily a feel-good book, it’s a reminder that you can always turn a bad situation around, and that when bad things do happen, how we react to them is what really matters.

THE PATH TO RESILIENCE

In search of the American dream, young Severine and her french-Haitian family move from France to the United States. They quickly discover success comes at a high cost and when tensions around immigration rise, Severine is forced to leave the life she knew behind.

A once successful student and pageant queen is now left to battle on the cold streets of Paris while dealing with unbearable cruelty and overwhelming loss. A touching memoir of a world citizen surviving life and all of the hardships it can throw at you..
